Indian Railways to increase the frequency of Maitree and Bandhan Express

Indian Railways will soon increase the frequency of Maitree and Bandhan Express running between India and Bangladesh.

Currently, Maitree Express runs four days in a week from Kolkata to Dhaka and Bandhan Express runs one day in a week from Kolkata to Khulna.


Piyush Goyal said, “We are working towards increasing the frequency of Maitree and Bandhan Express trains and want to take the shared agenda of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and PM Narendra Modi forward.”


Bangladesh has proposed to increase the frequency of the Maitree Express from four to six days per week and one day a week to three days a week for Bandhan Express.
