Indian Railways to provide 500 isolation coaches to Delhi for COVID-19

Indian Railways will provide 500 railway coaches to Delhi in view of the shortage of beds for COVID-19 patients in the national capital region.

The home minister, Amit Shah, said that the coaches will add 8,000 beds to the existing strength of beds in Delhi and will have all the facilities and equipment to treat Coronavirus.

This decision was taken after a crucial meeting was held by the home minister to discuss the COVID-19 situation in Delhi NCR.

Delhi is the worst-affected state in the country after Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. 

Currently, the total number of active and recovered cases in Delhi is 25,002 and 16,427 respectively.
