Indian Railways to Run 217 Special Trains for Summers

Keeping the ease of passengers in mind, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 217 special trains that will make 4,010 extra trips to connect the main railway stations of the country.

To ensure that the entire process becomes streamlined and the passengers don’t fall prey to ill tactics, the Railways will keep a close watch on the activities like monopolizing train reservations and overcharging needy passengers.


The South West Railway will run the most trains, with a total of 69 trains completing 1,768 trips. Meanwhile, the Western Railway will run 40 trains covering 846 trips, followed by the South Central Railway with 48 special trains for 528 trips.

The North Western Railway will have 16 trains covering 368 trips, the Eastern Central Railway will run 10 trains for 296 trips, the Central Railway has 10 special trips for 100 rounds, and the Southern Railway has 20 trains for 76 trips. Finally, Eastern Railway will run the least number of trains, just four, which will make only 28 trips.
