Following are the latest steps taken by  Railways –

1. Nagaland’s Dimapur railway station is beautifully revamped with local art

Indian Railways’ Dimapur station is completely redeveloped with new passenger-friendly facilities! The entry gate of the station has been beautified, displaying an ethnic look, specific to the state.

2. Railways increases the platform ticket price at Pune railway station to curb the crowd

In order to ensure that large crowds don’t gather at stations in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Railways is taking some major steps. In the latest move, it has hiked the price of platform tickets to Rs.50 at the Pune railway station.

3. Drone-based surveillance system for the Mumbai Division of Central Railway

The Railways has procured Ninja unmanned aerial vehicles for monitoring its assets and ensuring safety for passengers. The Mumbai Division of Central Railway has recently procured two Ninja vehicles for better security and surveillance in railway areas like station premises, railway track sections, yards, workshops.

4. Manduadih renamed as ‘Banaras’ railway station

The Manduadih railway station in Varanasi will now be known as the Banaras railway station. Equipped with the latest amenities, the Manduadih railway station is nothing less than an airport. Its stunning station building along with the new passenger-friendly amenities, have made this station a class apart.
