Lockdown 4.0: E-commerce Delivery of Non-Essentials Allowed in Red Zones

In the fourth extension of the nationwide lockdown in India, e-commerce companies have now been allowed to deliver essential and non-essential items to all zones in the country, except for containment zones.

Earlier, e-commerce companies were allowed to deliver non-essential items only in green and orange zones in the country.

However, this relaxation in e-commerce activities is subject to approval from the respective state governments. A state can choose to keep e-commerce restricted to only essentials in red zones.

State governments have also been given the authority to classify red, orange and green zones. Within the red and orange zones, states or district administrations can further classify containment zones where no activities except those for essential services will be allowed.
