Yes, you heard it right, and no, we are not kidding!
Lucerne, a small town in Switzerland, has replaced its church bells with the sounds of mobile ringtones while it is undergoing a renovation.
Officials from the catholic church, St. Peters Chapel chose to replace its bells with the familiar iPhone ringtone.
At first, the idea of temporarily replacing the bells with ringtones was a joke. But then they decided to run with the joke.
“We thought it was a telephone, a cell phone ringing. But I told them it was God calling,” one tourist said in an interview.
The ringtones will not remain a permanent change for the church, however. The project will only last until July 30.
We can only thank God for that!
