Rail Zones Told To Remove Political Advertisements by Railway Board

With just a few days to go for the Lok Sabha elections, Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav wrote to all zones asking them to remove all kinds of political advertisements.

This step has been taken after a few instances of violation of the model code of conduct.

Election Commission sources said that the Railways have been asked to explain the violation of the model code of conduct.


The message of removing political ads from the railway premises has been sent to all the General Manager and Divisional Railway.

As per the message by VK Yadav, “Every advertisement with any picture of leaders from railway tickets, railway stations, or any railway campus should be immediately removed and concerned agencies should be given appropriate information about this.”
