The West Bengal government has decided to impose a complete lockdown twice a week to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier announced that bi-weekly complete lockdown in West Bengal will be on August 2, 5, 8, 9, 16, 17, 22, 23, 29, 30.
In order to comply with the total lockdown in the state on August 5, eight special trains will be cancelled and two trains will be short terminated/originated on 4th and 5th August.

Along with this, railways has also published the list of trains that will be cancelled or short terminated/originated on the other dates of the lockdown in the state.

Southern Railways has also extended the cancellation of 14 special trains to Tamil Nadu till August 15, 2020 on the request of the state government.
