Rajdhani, Duronto among 30+ cancelled special trains

A Rajdhani cancellation is sure to grab your attention, but the Indian Railways has recently cancelled many more passenger trains due to a drop in demand. The newly terminated services include Duronto trains, express specials, as well as superfast special trains.

Passengers travelling from cities like Lucknow, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Ranchi and Kolkata may be affected by these cancellations. Please note that some of these are only single-day terminations, while other trains have indefinitely cancelled their trips.

Trips reduced for Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Specials

The East Coast Railway has reduced the days of operation for six Rajdhani Special trains connecting New Delhi and Bhubaneswar. Four trains will now run only on single days of the week, while two trains have been fully cancelled.

10 pairs of trains discontinued in eastern states

The Eastern Railway has cancelled trains from stations like Howrah, Kolkata, Sealdah, Muzaffarpur, Dhanbad and Ranchi due to ‘poor patronization’ of their services.

6 Northern Railway trains cancelled

Low occupancy and ‘operational reasons’ have led to the following train cancellations in northern India:

4 trains to/from Ahmedabad cancelled 

> Train no. 01138 Ahmedabad–Nagpur Special has been cancelled till July 1

> Train no. 01137 Nagpur–Ahmedabad Special has been cancelled till June 30

> Train no. 05270 Ahmedabad–Muzaffarpur Special has been cancelled from May 29 till further notice

> Train no. 05269 Muzaffarpur–Ahmedabad Special has been cancelled from May 27 till further notice

Mumbai–Prayagraj service cancelled on select dates

Train no. 09095 (Bandra Terminus–Subedarganj AC Superfast Special) will remain cancelled on May 24 and May 31, while train no. 09096 on the return leg will remain cancelled on May 26 and June 2, according to a press release released by the Western Railway.
