Sewa Service train launched; Know all the details

Piyush Goyal, Union Railway Minister, launched the Sewa Service trains yesterday. The first train to flag off was the Delhi-Shamli daily passenger train from New Delhi railway station.

The objective of these trains is to solve the last-mile connectivity problem for people travelling from small towns to major cities.

Highlights:

1– A total of 10 Sewa Service trains are planned by Indian Railways.
2–The Sewa Service trains will include daily trains between Delhi and Shamli, Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh town, Murkongselex and Dibrugarh, Kota and Jhalawar city and Coimbatore and Palani.
3– Other Sewa Service trains that will run six days a week will run from Vadnagar to Mahesana, Asarya to Himmatnagar, Karur to Salem, Yesvantpur to Tumkur and Coimbatore to Pollachi.
4– Tamil Nadu will receive three Sewa Service trains. It is the biggest beneficiary in the first set of launches.
