Plug types used in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia uses 4 plug types: Type A, B, C and G. Of these, Type A, B and G are not used in India, so you'll need a travel adapter for those sockets.

Type C plug and socket

Do I Need a Voltage Converter in Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia has a mixed power supply. Some regions and older buildings run on 127V, while newer infrastructure uses 220V, both at 60 Hz. This means you cannot assume a single voltage; always check the label inside your hotel room before plugging in a single-voltage Indian appliance like a hair dryer or immersion rod. Dual-voltage devices (phones, laptops) work safely on either supply.

Will my Indian charger work in Saudi Arabia?

Yes, but it depends on which socket your hotel has. Saudi Arabia uses Type A, B, C and G sockets at 220V/60Hz. Your Indian phone and laptop chargers are dual-voltage (the label reads 100–240V), so they handle Saudi Arabia voltage without any issue. The only question is plug shape — your Indian plug fits Type C sockets directly, but will not fit Type A, B and G sockets without an adapter. You do not need a voltage converter — Saudi Arabia's 220V is the same as India's 230V.
