As of today, i.e., 6th July, travelling to and from Australia will be possible for people without having to declare their COVID-19 vaccination status. The change comes into effect following the advice of the country’s Chief Medical Officer. Without the Digital Passenger Declaration, all visa holders are now free to travel to Australia, regardless of qualifying for any travel exemptions.

As per the Minister of Home Affairs, the relaxations have been implemented to decrease the delays faced at airports, and to facilitate ease to Australian nationals when they return home.

Despite these changes, people are still required to follow certain rules. This includes wearing face masks on inbound international flights. Travellers must also comply with the COVID-19-specific mandates of airlines and states that are in place.

These relaxations are expected to boost tourism in the country and aid Australian nationals while travelling abroad.
