Starting from 4th July, Bhutan finally lifted the five-day quarantine requirement for all incoming travellers. This decision was taken in response to the declining COVID-19 positivity rate in the country. A new “Test-and-Go” system, however, has been implemented. According to this new guideline, travellers will have to undergo a quarantine at home/hotel for 24 hours or until a negative RT-PCR result is declared.

As per the new system, RT-PCR test samples of all travellers will be collected on arrival in Bhutan. They will also be required to produce a vaccination certificate or proof of COVID-19 infection, six months prior to travel. Those who test positive must self-isolate for five days at home or in a hotel.

At the points of entry, all travellers must fill out and submit the Test-and-Go undertaking, which is available on the Ministry of Health website
