Coronavirus Outbreak: Government releases a list of 170 hotspot districts

The total number of COVID-19 cases in India has increased to 12,380 and fatalities to 414.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi continue to witness a spike in the number of cases.


Major updates are as following:

>105 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Gujarat, taking the state’s tally to 871.

>A pizza delivery person has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Delhi and that 17 other delivery persons linked to him are also placed under institutional quarantine.

>Government released a list of 170 hotspot districts, which includes all the 6 metros and various other large cities. The list includes all the 9 districts of the national capital.

>A remote-controlled robot ‘Co-Bot’ has been developed in West Singhbhum district, under the supervision of the District Deputy Development Commissioner to provide food & medicine to patients without human intervention.

>Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa inaugurates COVID-19 testing mobile booth at his home office ‘Krishna’ in Bengaluru.
