Here’s How Indian Railways Is Making Travel Safer During COVID-19

Travelling during COVID-19 is worrisome, but Indian Railways is trying its best to reduce the risk and offer a safe and comfortable travel experience.

Here are some key steps being taken by the Railways: 

A new temperature testing & recording device has been designed & made by Diesel Shed Vatva staff, which has an  OLED display.  This device can identify a person having a fever, and it has been installed at several stations to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Railways have already increased their sanitisation efforts. To improve them further and in a more effective way, a specially modified machine with a 360°reach is being used to spray disinfectants.

Here is the machine at use at Faizabad Station: 

The staff at the Railway stations are working day and night to disinfect the surfaces for the safety of all the visitors. From manually cleaning the floors to using machines, the staff is doing it all.

Hands-free thermal screening machines have been installed at various stations of Western Railways and will be given to other stations as well.

Lastly, Railways is also spreading awareness regarding COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. Through social media and by making regular announcements in trains and at stations, Railways is doing their best to keep people informed.
