Aizawl Guest House

We had booked a Deluxe Double/Twin Room, but on check-in the manager told us we were placed in the smallest room on the ground floor with no view. They informed us only at check-in, not earlier.They said we could stay 1 night and shift upstairs the next day. The room had a bad smell and was not clean.If double rooms are not available, they should call and inform guests in advance. Very disappointing experience.

Our time at Aizawl Guest House was among the most unpleasant travel experiences we've encountered. Upon arrival, we were unexpectedly asked to pay an extra ₹2,000 as a security deposit, a condition not disclosed on Agoda or any other booking site beforehand, which was quite upsetting. The main problem was the owner's attitude; he came across as rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional during our entire stay. We were constantly pushed to rent his sightseeing vehicle at an exorbitant rate, and when we refused, we were told we still had to pay even if we didn't use it. This caused us significant discomfort and mental stress. Rather than enjoying our visit to Aizawl, we ended up dealing with needless conflicts and pressure. From our perspective, the owner's and staff's behavior was totally unacceptable, making us feel more threatened than welcomed. I wouldn't suggest this guest house to anyone unless there are major improvements in honesty, professionalism, and guest treatment.

I booked this homestay because of the pictures and views, but it turned out to be the worst decision of my life. Once you book and pay, you have no option but to stick with them. Even after paying in full, they demanded a security deposit of Rs 2000 for 2 rooms at the reception, and we were told we couldn't get the rooms without paying it. The rooms were not like the pictures; one room's balcony could only be accessed through the bathroom. They also offer a personal car with a driver, which we used since it was our first time in Aizawl, but the fare was unreasonable and the driver was unfriendly. On the first day, we used their car, but later found out he charged much more than other taxi services. On the second day, we found another driver who offered a much lower price. When we told the owner about this, she got angry and said we couldn't use another car, or if we did, we had to pay her, otherwise she wouldn't allow it or give a discount. So we had to use her car again on the second day. The owner, driver, and staff acted like thugs. I've traveled a lot but never met such people. They almost ruined our first experience in Aizawl, but after leaving, we met a very nice taxi driver who made the rest of our trip enjoyable.

Once you book this homestay and make payment which you are bound to make because there's no other option, you are stuck with them. Even after booking them with full amount they asked for security money of Rs 2000 for 2 rooms after reaching their reception and we were told we cannot get rooms unless we make the payment. The rooms provided are not same as the pictures.One of the rooms balcony was accessible only through bathroom. They also provide their own personal car with driver which we took, as we were first time visiting aizawl but the fare was unreasonable and driver is not friendly at all. First day we took their car but later that day we came to know that he was charging lots of extra money compared to other taxi service. For second day we talked to another driver and he was ready to take us to all the places at much lower price. We told the owner that we are getting a taxi with lower price so either you reduce your fare or cancel your car but she got so angry at me and said we cannot take another car or even if we take we have to pay her or she won't let us go with another taxi neither she will provide discount. So we were bound to travel with her car on second day also. The owner, driver and the staffs of the homestay are like goons. I have travelled to many places but first time I faced such people. They almost made our aizawls first experience horrible but later after leaving their homestay we met a very nice taxi guy who made our rest of the trip a good experience.

My stay at Aizawl Guest House was quite disappointing. The staff acted in a very unprofessional and unfriendly manner. The rooms we received did not match what was promised when we booked. Additionally, the owner was rude and unhelpful. The food quality was very poor and one of the worst aspects of our visit. Most frustrating was their refusal to give us the room key until we paid a security deposit, which was not clearly communicated beforehand, causing unnecessary trouble. I hope the management works on improving customer service, being transparent with guests, and enhancing the quality of their facilities and food. A good stay should be based on honesty, respect, and professionalism.
