Amatra by the Ganges

I am writing this to warn others: please think twice before booking this resort. Our two day full board stay was a complete waste of money and a massive disappointment.1. Misleading locationThe resort claims to be in Haridwar, but it is located far from the mainland in a remote village. Getting anywhere is a struggle, and you’re essentially stranded in an isolated area with no nearby amenities.2. Zero regard for accessibilityThis was the most upsetting part of our trip. Before arriving, we called and specifically asked if the property was wheelchair accessible. We were promised it was. That was a lie.The only restaurant is on the first floor.When we explained that one of our group is in a wheelchair and asked for a table to be set up on the ground level (just below the stairs), the management rejected our request.It is incredibly disheartening to see a business show such little empathy or willingness to accommodate a guest with limited mobility.3. Pathetic foodSince we had a full board package-breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not a single dish was good. The food was tasteless and poorly prepared. For a resort to fail across all three meals for two days straight is actually impressive in the worst way possible.4. Seepage, smell, and poor hygieneThe rooms were in terrible condition. Both of the rooms we booked had strong, damp seepage on the walls. A foul, bad smell that hit you the moment you walked in.General cleanliness was a 2/5 at best. The place feels neglected and unhygienic.

The overall ambience and hospitality were excellent.however, during the 31st eve event, it felt that the tittles and rewards are pre-decided, which took away the spirit of fair participation. The DJ selection was limited and felt biased did not cater to the overall crowd..loose Music energy... As this was my second stay, unfortunately certain service gaps were still noticeable..to meet refined guest experience. the checkout process was inconvenient..we kept waiting 15 minutes for room verification nd not allowed us to go...this was very unprofessional. I genuinely hope these concerns are addressed so future stays feel more refined and fair.

it is not worth the price that is being paid. it does not feel like a 5 star property. even though the food is delicious but the number of items are way too less and the change of food should be better thought. changing from red to white pasta is not a change. The location is good with Ganga flowing at the back of the resort. the room was spacious. But the overall activites are not much. You can get bored easily. the play room or kids room does not have much to do. some of the basic activities are paid like cycling.

Overall, a great stay. The view is spectacular. The place is peaceful, fun and perfect for both family and couples. Their breakfast buffet has many options along with a few live counters serving dosa etc. The dinner buffet is equally good, even the a-la-carte menu is good and has a decent price. The housekeeping staff is extremely sweet and supportive.

Hotel location is at perfect location, right beside Ganga river and in vicinity of the city.But the food is overly priced. Opt for breakfast inclusion while booking but have lunch/dinner outside.Service is not good. TV channels were not working and when they connected after one day through internet, the speed was very slow to watch anything. Night staff have no idea about the services to offer. Rooms have stinky smell, one of the cub boards was even broken.Parking is not available since the lane is very narrow and hotel has no place to accommodate cars. There is paid public parking near 100 meter. So don't expect luxury stay feelAll in all if you get Ganga river facing rooms at reasonable price then go for it. If you are travelling by your own car then be prepared to walk or have e rikshaw to carry your luggage till the the parking area.
