Note: My booking was with Blue Bells Resort. The management relocated us to Spice Jungle (same management) citing a water issue — informed only after we reached the pickup point.We stayed 2 nights and it was disappointing from start to finish.Check-in: Despite calling them twice before arrival, they only informed us about the relocation when we were already at the pickup point. Then made us wait 30 minutes for a jeep that covers 500m.Rooms: Stank of damp sheets and had large insects including a huge spider inside. Basic housekeeping was clearly lacking.Checkout morning: No hot water in either room — geyser under maintenance. Maintenance couldn't fix it. We asked to use a vacant room's bathroom — denied. Eventually they brought hot water in a bucket. We left an hour behind schedule because of this.The jeep again: Made us wait another 30 minutes at checkout despite prior notice. Reason? The driver was asleep.To top it all — Spice Jungle is more expensive than Blue Bells, the property we originally booked.Would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible maintenance, poor communication and zero accountability.

I picked Blue Bell Resort, Munnar because of its good Google reviews, but sadly, my stay was very unsatisfactory. The service was really bad. Food arrived very late, and even getting tea or coffee took too long. The food's quality and taste were disappointing. The room's TV didn't work, water supply was poor, and the road to the resort was in terrible shape, making travel tough. This place isn't good for seniors (50+ years) because of hard access and lack of proper amenities. Overall, my experience was very disappointing. I wouldn't suggest this resort unless they make big improvements in service, food, upkeep, and guest facilities.

Honestly, this hotel is not good. There are many issues like bad food, water problems in the bathroom, and poor kitchen service. At 7:30 in the morning, there was no chef available in the restaurant, and I am used to having tea early in the morning, but no one was there.

A lovely and tranquil location

I seldom write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience so others can decide wisely. We booked Bluebells Resort for three nights during our Munnar trip, trusting its 4.4-star Google rating. Sadly, the stay was so unsatisfactory that we left after just one night. The main problem was cleanliness and hygiene. Upon entering the bathroom, we found it poorly maintained with broken fittings, damaged areas, untidiness, and overall low hygiene standards. When we reported this, a staff member came but communication was difficult due to language differences. I asked the manager multiple times to come and address the issue, but he was hesitant and when he finally saw the room, he said it had been freshly cleaned and that other rooms were similar, which was worrying. The manager's attitude was disappointing; instead of resolving issues, it felt like our concerns were ignored. Even simple requests like towels and water needed repeated reminders. The resort's location was inconvenient, far from Munnar town, requiring reliance on the resort's transport. The access roads were muddy, slippery, poorly lit, and tough to navigate, especially in rain. We were once asked to check a nearby alternative property, but it lacked the features we booked, like the balcony view. Returning, no transport was arranged despite bad weather and late hour; only after escalating did they provide a vehicle. Food was another letdown; prices were high but quality was poor. Breakfast was basic, and we saw insects near some food, raising hygiene concerns. The only good thing was the room's lovely natural view, though poor property upkeep meant insects were everywhere. What upset us most was not just the property's condition but the lack of responsibility when we raised issues. Problems can occur anywhere, but how they are handled matters. We booked three nights but left after one. Based on this, I wouldn't recommend this place, especially for couples or families wanting a comfortable, hassle-free stay in Munnar.
