Camelot Resort-A Boutique Escape in the Munnar Hills

Pros: 1) The views are truly breathtaking. 2) The manager is courteous and polite. Cons: 1) The cost of the stay is not justified; it is quite pricey, and there are better alternatives at similar prices. 2) The location is very isolated; it’s best to arrive during daylight hours. 3) There is no mobile signal. The hotel’s landline was also out of order, so communication relied solely on WiFi. Since different parts of the resort have separate WiFi access points, this was inconvenient. Staff mainly used WhatsApp, which was not always practical. 4) Service is slow due to a shortage of staff. 5) The toiletries provided are very basic. Our Experience: 1) Even though we informed them beforehand about our arrival and special occasion, no proper candlelight dinner or decorations were arranged, and the food was served very late. 2) Our room was upgraded from Super Luxury to Premium, but the upgrade didn’t add much value. The room lacked AC, the fan was broken, and it felt cramped. 3) They charged ₹2000 for a candlelight setup, but only provided a few rose petals, some flowers, 4–5 cheap candles, and balloons. 4) The booking was for three people, but toiletries like toothbrush and soap were provided for only one. 5) The food menu was very limited and repeated the next day with no new options. 6) They charged over ₹500 for about 80 ml of simple homemade wine, which seemed overpriced. 7) Vegetarian choices were very limited: only one soup, 2–3 vegetable dishes, and 2–3 starters.

Had a wonderful stay at Camelot Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful nature getaway near Munnar. The biggest highlight of this property is its stunning location inside Letchmi Estate, surrounded by beautiful tea plantations, rolling hills, and an amazing climate throughout the day.The resort is very family-friendly and offers a calm, relaxing atmosphere away from the crowd. Families traveling with children will appreciate the indoor play area for kids, which keeps them engaged and entertained throughout the stay.One of the best experiences was the nature walk through the tea gardens, especially walking along with their friendly Labradors. The viewpoints along the trail offer breathtaking scenery and are perfect for photography and nature lovers.The infinity swimming pool is another major attraction, offering spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The food was also very good, and the chef was happy to customize dishes according to our taste, which made the dining experience even better.A special mention to the owners, who stay within the property itself. They are extremely warm, welcoming, and always available to help with anything guests need, making the stay feel very personal and comfortable.The resort is located about 13 km from Munnar town, making it convenient while still offering complete peace and privacy. The only thing to note is that the last stretch of road to the resort is a bit off-road, so it’s better to arrive with your own vehicle. However, once you reach the property, the location and experience make it completely worthwhile.Overall, Camelot Resort is an excellent choice for families, couples, and nature lovers looking to enjoy the beauty of Munnar in a serene setting. The combination of breathtaking views, pleasant weather, great food, friendly hosts, nature walks, and excellent facilities makes it a memorable place to stay. Note that the final part of the road to the resort is somewhat off-road, so it's best to arrive with your own vehicle. Still, the location and experience more than make up for it. Overall, Camelot Resort is a fantastic option for families, couples, and nature lovers wanting to enjoy Munnar's beauty in a serene atmosphere. The mix of breathtaking views, nice weather, delicious food, friendly hosts, nature walks, and great facilities makes it a memorable place to stay. I look forward to returning!

I had a wonderful time staying here! The beautiful views and the clean, welcoming atmosphere were very enjoyable. The dinner and breakfast were both good. Many thanks to the manager, Mr. Dominic, for the fantastic guided trekking and sightseeing. I definitely recommend this place!
