The staff here were terrible and disgusting! My experience at this resort was traumatizing because the staff physically hit my husband on the head during an argument. We have filed an FIR and taken all necessary steps. I want to warn everyone to be cautious before booking here. Their services are genuinely poor, and the bathroom in the room smelled bad. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and avoid a negative experience on their trip.

A WARNING to all tourists and families — please think carefully before booking Green Reed Resort. What was meant to be a calm family vacation turned into one of the most traumatic and terrifying experiences we've ever had while traveling. We booked the resort for 2 nights. Initially, we planned to travel from Mumbai to Guwahati by train, but due to unavoidable reasons, we drove all the way from Mumbai to Kaziranga — nearly 60 hours of travel with family, a 6-year-old child, and our pet dog. We informed the resort about our late arrival, but when we reached around 11 PM, no staff helped us with our luggage. The stay was very disappointing. The bathrooms had a bad smell, there was no proper hot water, and the overall cleanliness and hospitality were very poor. The next day, when leaving for Majuli, we asked if our luggage could be safely stored since we had another night booked. Instead of handling it professionally, the staff made us wait about 30 minutes and then rudely said extra charges would apply. We had already packed and were ready to leave. The whole situation was handled without courtesy, professionalism, or basic hospitality. Things worsened when we told them we didn't want to stay the second night and asked for a refund of the advance. Though I understand refund denial may be policy, the manager, Mukund, who runs the property on lease, was extremely rude and blamed us for their "loss," even though the resort was empty and we were the only booking. He later used abusive language over the phone with my husband. Since the property was on our route, we stopped to ask why abusive language was used with paying guests. We had paid fully for the first night despite the poor experience and only wanted basic respect and decency. What happened next was shocking. The situation escalated to violent physical assault. My sister and I were pushed and hit. My brother-in-law was attacked with an iron rod, suffered heavy bleeding, needed 3 stitches, and had a fracture in his right hand. Imagine the trauma for a 6-year-old child witnessing such violence during a family holiday. We genuinely feared for our lives. This was not just "bad hospitality" — it became a serious safety issue involving violence against guests. The incident left a permanent scar on us and changed how we view traveling in the region. We've traveled extensively across India but never experienced anything this horrifying. The matter became so serious we filed an FIR at Kohra Police Station under sections for assault, criminal intimidation, assault on a woman, grievous hurt, and attempt to murder. An official case is registered and now in court. No tourist, family, woman, or child should ever feel unsafe where they pay to stay. We've filed complaints with authorities and requested strict action against the property and management. Until proper action is taken, I strongly advise travelers — especially families, women, and tourists with children — to avoid this resort for their safety. Please do not dismiss reviews like this as exaggeration. We never imagined a refund dispute and poor hospitality would lead to physical violence and bloodshed. Without a doubt, this was the worst and most unsafe travel experience of our lives.

Terrible Stay Experience

2.0

I strongly advise against staying here; it was the worst experience we've had. There was no hot water in the bathrooms, and the breakfast and dinner they claim to offer were not available at all. They simply say everything is available, but that's not true. There was no one to assist guests or inform us about meals, and the resort doesn't have a restaurant. It was shocking because we waited for breakfast at 8:30 am, only to find out there was no restaurant at all. Imagine how disappointing that was.
