Hotel Sinclairs Bayview Port Blair

Excellent location and ses-view and great staff.Unfirtunately poor maintenance and not up to date with upgrades expected from Sinclairs group.The mini fridge in the room didnt work and the light switches kept tripping.The bathroom doesnt have any place keep the clothes and towels.

Reservamos este hotel para las noches del 13 y 14 de septiembre de 2026, una habitación familiar por 124€ la noche con desayuno incluido. Sin duda, lo mejor del hotel son las vistas impresionantes a la bahía de Port Blair, el mar tranquilo y las palmeras; desde la habitación se puede disfrutar de un primer plano espectacular (adjunto fotos). El personal también es amable y atento. Sin embargo, es importante saber que septiembre es temporada baja en esta zona, época de monzones, aunque nosotros tuvimos suerte con un clima muy soleado para la época. Debido a la temporada baja, algunas áreas como la terraza del bar con las mejores vistas a la bahía estaban cerradas, según nos dijeron por la baja ocupación, y por eso estaban sucias: sofás, cojines y mesas sin limpiar desde hace meses. Aun así, decidimos usarla y tomarnos unas cervezas mirando al mar, aunque evitando sentarnos en cojines con rastros de palomas (adjunto fotos). Con la cantidad de empleados que vimos y pocos clientes, no entiendo por qué no limpian la terraza para que los huéspedes puedan disfrutarla, ya que es parte de las instalaciones y aparece en la web de Booking. Otra cosa a considerar es que los baños están completamente integrados en la habitación, sin paredes ni puertas que separen la ducha o el retrete del resto del cuarto (adjunto fotos). Solo hay mamparas tipo ducha de gimnasio que no llegan al techo, así que si eres pudoroso y no quieres que tu pareja escuche o huela lo que haces en el baño, deberías buscar otras opciones. Esto no se muestra en las fotos del hotel, por eso lo menciono aquí. Hay otras áreas, como las escaleras hacia la piscina, que necesitan pintura (adjunto fotos). La piscina solo tiene dos hamacas. En resumen, el hotel está en un lugar privilegiado, pero por el precio por noche y habitación, uno espera un poco más de cuidado en el mantenimiento general y que todas las instalaciones estén disponibles. Esa es mi opinión personal.

We checked into Sinclairs Bayview, Port Blair today with two families and two infants, hoping for a comfortable and pleasant stay due to the hotel's reputation, sea view, and the price paid. Sadly, this turned out to be one of our worst hotel experiences. We paid about ₹14,000 for two rooms for one night, expecting the rooms and overall experience to match the cost. While the sea view was present, the room condition, cleanliness, and atmosphere were very disappointing. The worst problem was a strong, unpleasant odor inside the rooms that made us feel nauseous, which was especially worrying with two infants. We also saw mushroom growth near the AC, raising serious cleanliness and maintenance concerns. Bird droppings were abundant around the veranda, making it unpleasant and unhygienic. The smell around the room and veranda was unbearable. We complained and asked for a room change. The hotel did switch rooms, but the second room also smelled bad and was unacceptable. We raised the issue again but did not get a satisfactory response from management. We ordered food at the hotel, but it was very expensive given the quality and overall experience. Due to the unbearable room condition and smell, we had to leave and book another place at our own cost. We informed the hotel about this and explained why we left, but felt our concerns were not properly addressed. Since we paid around ₹14,000 for one night for two rooms, we asked for a 50% refund as fair compensation for a stay we couldn't use, but the hotel refused. A hotel charging this much should at least provide clean, hygienic, well-maintained, and fresh-smelling rooms, especially for guests with small children. The sea view may be nice, but it doesn't make up for unhygienic conditions, bad smells, poor room upkeep, and poor handling of a genuine complaint. This was a very disappointing experience. We expected better from Sinclairs Bayview and would not recommend it to families, especially those with infants or young kids.

A wonderful destination to explore with delicious food.

Terrible service. I've visited many times, but the latest visit was the worst. The bartender, Arun Sharma, has very poor customer service. When I mentioned that he might get bad reviews, he said he didn't care. I understand why, because of staff like him, the whole place often suffers. I do not recommend it.
