Hotel Villa Maryam

A mixed experience: excellent staff response, but serious initial cleanliness issues.I stayed at Hotel Villa Maryam for two nights. My experience was a tale of two different rooms.On the first night, I was in room 202. The room looked neat and clean on the surface, but I had a terrible experience. I woke up around 2:45 AM to find my body covered in scratches, which I suspect were from bedbugs. When I called the reception, the staff person suggested it must have been from an open window. I had to point out that it isn't a guest's responsibility to ensure the room is secure from pests.To their credit, the staff member was responsive and immediately shifted me to a new room for my second night. This new room was a completely different story’it was very nice, clean, well-maintained, and I had no issues at all.My message to the hotel management is this: please work harder on providing a consistently clean environment. People travel far from home, and cleanliness is one of the most basic necessities for a comfortable stay. After the room change, my stay was comfortable. I just sincerely hope you will take better care of all your rooms, including checking for pests and securing windows, from now on.

Had a room booked and did not have the most pleasant experience, the staff did not behave in the most friendly way and even the facilities provided were sub-par.

The rooms were compact and just about functional for a short stay, though cleanliness could definitely be improved ’ the cups provided were quite dirty, and despite assurances, we never received the extra plates we requested. The corridors had a damp feel, and visible seepage on the walls added to the rundown impression. The in-house restaurant had limited options and was on the pricier side. Might work for a quick overnight stay, but not ideal for anything longer.
