Kadkani River Resort Ammathi

Our visit to Kadkani Resort in Coorg was sadly very disappointing. The resort boasts lovely surroundings and spacious rooms with the potential to be a high-end destination, but it is clearly not maintained or managed to that level. The rooms felt damp and neglected, with curtains that seemed unwashed for a long time and cleanliness far below what you'd expect from such a resort. The bathroom had a strong, unpleasant gas-like odor that was worrying. The property urgently needs deep cleaning and major maintenance. The hospitality was another big letdown; staff seemed low on energy and lacked warmth or proactive service. The food was average and didn't meet the standards expected from a premium resort. Most troubling was my friend losing her diamond solitaire ring from the room after housekeeping. This is a very serious issue, especially since there was no safe in the room to secure valuables, which is unacceptable for this type of resort. While we can't say exactly what happened, the timing after housekeeping made us very uneasy. Kadkani has a beautiful location and real potential. With better maintenance, stricter housekeeping, improved hospitality training, higher quality food, and especially stronger guest security, it could be a top destination. Unfortunately, based on our stay, it currently falls far short of that, and the incident with the missing valuable made the experience particularly upsetting and worrying.

Our holiday turned into a total disaster due to extremely poor upkeep, cleanliness, and most importantly, security. We came as three families hoping for a fun and relaxing time, but it ended up being one of the worst resort experiences I've ever had. From the start, the place looked badly maintained, dirty, and poorly managed. The staff acted without any sense of responsibility or customer care. Our room was in awful shape: the bed smelled damp and seemed to have been sprayed with insect repellent, the curtains appeared never washed, bathroom fixtures were falling apart, and the water was never hot enough. The food was very average, with the high tea especially disappointing—low-quality tea, mostly fried snacks, and unfriendly staff. There was no room service after 10 pm, and once our food took nearly an hour despite multiple reminders. The biggest issue was losing my diamond solitaire ring from our room. On day two, housekeeping kept insisting on cleaning our room because they had to leave by 4:30 pm, which was annoying. Later, a staff member named Mudappa asked for our room key, saying they had no spare. We asked about our valuables and were assured they were safe to leave in the room. This was despite the room having no safe, locker, or secure cupboard. We trusted their word. When we returned, my ring was gone. We reported it immediately, but the GM was away, and the staff seemed clueless about what to do. They said they'd investigate, but showed little urgency or seriousness. The manager eventually claimed no one took the ring. When we asked why we weren't warned about leaving valuables unsecured, he stopped responding. What was most upsetting was not just the loss but the total lack of urgency, responsibility, and empathy afterward. We expected a serious investigation into who accessed the room and who had the key, but instead, we felt no one cared. For a resort, guest security should be a top priority. If guests hand over keys and are told their valuables are safe, there must be accountability if something goes missing. Overall, this stay was terrible—poor hygiene, maintenance, food, service, and a disturbing attitude toward security. I strongly advise anyone thinking of staying here to reconsider. If losing a valuable item is met with such indifference, I doubt how management would handle any other security issue. What was meant to be a holiday for three families became a stressful and unpleasant experience none of us will forget. It seems they are used to this and confident it doesn't matter. Management still hasn't explained why we were told valuables were safe, why there is no locker, or if this was intentional.

Nice property at a decent budget. Has couple of ponds within the property and the beautiful Cauvery river flowing right adjacent to the property. Quite a few activities for kids to keep them engaged. Beautiful sourroundings and looks the best in monsoons.Suggestion to management: Please introduce Kayaking.

A high-quality stay at a reasonable cost. Suitable for families with a wide selection of meals (dinner or lunch options). The pool is open from 7am to 7pm, with some activities included and others requiring payment. Enjoyed the puttu for breakfast and the Coorgi style chicken curry for dinner.

Property is big but room needs upgradation. We booked Den Cottages room was big but washroom was very old with broken tiles and salt water marks. After raising issue they changed the room were bathroom was better than the previous one but not up to the mark for 12k which they charged for one day. Food taste was very average. Pool and other activity area is well maintained
