Aranya Nivas is a government-run (KTDC) heritage jungle lodge positioned inside the boundary of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Its location is its single greatest asset: staying here puts you right in the heart of nature, walking distance from the Periyar Lake boat landing.’If your primary goal in visiting Thekkady is early access to wildlife safaris, serene forest ambiance, and direct views of local flora and fauna, Aranya Nivas is hard to beat. However, as a state-managed property, amenity upkeep and food consistency can vary.’The Experience’"Sitting on the benches outside Aranya Nivas, the blend of birdsong and jungle sounds makes the experience magical.
