I want to share my true experience so other travelers can make a well-informed choice. Before booking, I contacted the owner and specifically asked about early check-in and late check-out. I was told early check-in was allowed with no extra fees and late check-out was permitted until 2:00 PM. We arrived at the property around 6:00 AM on Friday and completed early check-in smoothly. But once inside the room, we were very disappointed. The room was dirty. We saw bugs, and the bedsheets and blankets looked unclean and poorly maintained. The room's overall condition was much worse than what the online reviews suggested. The worst part was the bathroom. It had a strong bad smell and no basic toiletries were provided. We told the owner right away. A staff member checked the bathroom and agreed about the smell. Later, the owner said the smell was due to the exhaust setup and told us not to turn on the exhaust fan but keep the bathroom window open. They sprayed air freshener, which only helped briefly. We were also told toiletries are not supplied by the property, which was surprising since they are basic hospitality items. The owner promised to move us to another room the next day, but for us the problem was not just one room—it was the overall lack of cleanliness, upkeep, and guest comfort. Because of this, we cut short our planned 3-day stay and checked out on Saturday. On Saturday, due to traffic, we reached the property around 1:45 PM to pick up our luggage. We asked for just 30 extra minutes for check-out, and the staff agreed. We checked out around 2:30 PM. However, at checkout we were unexpectedly asked to pay an extra ₹2,000. At first, they said it was for early check-in, even though we had confirmed before booking there would be no extra charge. When I reminded them, they changed the reason to a late check-out fee. It was frustrating since we were only about 30 minutes late and had informed staff. There was a lot of unnecessary arguing, but since we were running late for our trip, we paid and left. Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing stays I've had. We booked after reading positive reviews, but our experience was very different. We felt the money spent was not worth it. Our rooms were large, impeccably clean, and very cozy, helping us feel right at home. The staff were extremely kind, polite, and always eager to assist with a friendly attitude, making the hospitality stand out.

I also appreciated the hotel's location, as it provides easy access to key attractions, cafés, and the Ganga river. The staff's careful attention and friendly service made my experience even more special. I would certainly stay at La Casa Bonita again on future visits to Rishikesh and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a pleasant and comfortable stay.
