Guest as saying

An absolutely shocking and unacceptable experience for a property that calls itself a 5-star hotel. The rooms themselves are a huge letdown. The floors creak, the beds are uncomfortable, and there is practically no privacy whatsoever. Nearly 90% of the rooms appear to face or overlook other rooms. Draw your curtains and you could quite literally be staring straight into another guest's bedroom while they can stare straight into yours. The only way to maintain any privacy is to keep the curtains drawn. For a supposedly premium property, the design is baffling. But the rooms were the least of our concerns after we were served bread laden with fungus/mould at the breakfast buffet. What followed was even more disturbing. When the fungus/mold laden bread was brought to the Executive Chef's attention, instead of immediately acknowledging the problem and removing it, he attempted to pass off as "multigrain powder." Only when I told him that I would take the bread around the restaurant and ask every guest sitting there whether they thought it was fungus or "multigrain powder" did he finally admit that it was indeed fungus.Finding fungus on food at a breakfast buffet is bad enough. Having to argue with the Executive Chef of a 5-star hotel to get him to acknowledge and remove the mouldy breads takes the situation to an entirely different level. The response of the senior management was equally disappointing. Neither the Sales Manager nor the GM appeared to appreciate the seriousness of the situation. We were instead met with statements such as "we'll get the bread tested." Tested for what? The fungus/mould was visible to the naked eye and their own Executive Chef and other restaurant staff had, by then, already admitted what it was.For a hotel charging 5-star prices, this is an appalling standard of both food safety and accountability. Guests should not have to inspect buffet food for fungus, nor should they have to threaten to show contaminated food to other diners before hotel staff stop trying to dismiss the problem.Five-star hospitality is not merely about an expensive property or a premium price tag. It is about standards, hygiene, accountability and the way serious concerns are handled. For the prices guests are paying, basic food safety should not be something they have to worry about. Extremely disappointing and concerning experience. OUTRAGEOUS!!
