Minimalist Panjim

Even though I confirmed my arrival for midnight, when checking in, the hotel said one of my rooms was sold out due to a booking error and asked me to pay extra to take the upgraded room. Why I am being charged extra for a system error makes no sense. Then they didn't even have room keys to issue. One poor staff member was running around giving room access with his master key (very secure). Then the room on the 1st floor was covered in mold/mildew on the walls and floor and the bed had tiny insects on it. Of course we refused to stay there, but they didn't have more rooms to give so we squeezed into one of our other rooms. No refund was offered so it was a complete waste of money. The hotel manager didn't bother to show their face or call to try and reconcile. None of the room fridges were working. The sheets might have been clean but they were stained.There was a rat running around the lobby and 1st floor. The only positive feedback was the food from the lobby restaurant and some of the staff members that were apologetic and polite. Horrible stay and embarrassing to let visitors think this is the standard in Goa

Sheik at the front desk was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and cozy, making the overall experience enjoyable. On the downside, the restaurant service was quite poor and requires major enhancement. The staff there were sluggish and inattentive to customers. It would be great if the restaurant service could be upgraded to the same high level as the front desk and rooms.

Rooms were average with poor upkeep and water leaks, though the location was okay and the cafe pleasant. The positives stop there. Despite promoting their coffee, none was available for the first day and a half of our visit. The biggest surprise was being woken up at 11pm, just two days before checkout, to settle the final bill. Even if payment was missed at check-in, common courtesy and basic service would suggest waiting until morning instead of disturbing a guest late at night, especially since a 50% advance was already paid during booking. This was disappointing from a place that came recommended and where I had some expectations. I would strongly advise against staying here.

I was abruptly woken up at 11pm to make an immediate payment, even though I had already paid 50% when booking and still had two days left before checkout. If the policy required full payment at check-in, the staff could have addressed it in the morning or collected it then. They blamed the morning staff, but it seemed like their own incompetence, disregarding guest comfort. I was trying to ignore other issues, but after this incident, I have to mention the leaky ceilings, moldy walls, and overflowing bathrooms. A friend staying at the same time had to switch rooms due to dampness and mold. Overall, a very poor experience. I would not recommend this place. Don't be fooled by the Instagram-worthy photos!

My experience with Sheik was fantastic! Everything, including the service and the entire experience, was top-notch. The staff were warm, professional, and inviting. It's clear they truly value their customers. I would absolutely recommend this place and look forward to returning!
