The Grand Imperial - Heritage Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly also. Food is costly but good quality. Would highly recommend

AWAY. /!\Hotel has been booked on Booking.com 5 months in advance, and credit card had been provided properly.On the day of arrival, the hotel deemed the credit card as invalid (It was NOT, they did not even try to authorize the card). I updated the card, and yet again, they did not even try to authorize it.They STRAIGHT UP CANCELLED MY RESERVATION!!!After calls with both Booking.com and the property, it appeared that the hotel was actually overbooked in my room category, but that the property still had rooms available in a higher one.They then tried to scam me, by offering an alternative accomodation in another filthy soulless hotel, or by asking me to pay a price difference of 10,000 INR.I've been working for many years in the hospitality industry, and in several properties. We NEVER refuse to provide the Guest with an accomodation if we do have some availability of any kind. Even if it means an upgrade for the Guest.This is simply wrong, not up to the elementary hospitality standards, nor the Booking.com policy.Once again, GO AWAY from that property. They even avoided the Booking.com calls by keeping saying "hello, hello, I can't hear you... hello". These guys are straight up scammers!!!

Ok so let me start from the beginning. We paid the whole amount at the reception which is expected and then checked in our room and noticed that AC is not working so we informed the staff. After 15 minutes someone came to check and tried to operate the AC and tried few things then said maybe remote is not working then again after 10-15 minutes another guy came and try start the AC after which only 1 Ac worked that too with minimal effect and the other split AC was still not working. Then we informed the manager to get it checked. The worst part is The Manager was very casual and said it's a minor glitch will get fixed, we were like seriously it's been over 30 minutes since we checked in and your AC issue hasn't fixed yet. He again said very casual we are checking and then we said we don't want to stay here anymore and are checking out right now and want the refund on which his response was very casual. They dont know how to treat to their guestsWorst experience for so called heritage property.Note: The 1 start is given as I want to post a review otherwise they do not deserve this 1 start as well.

This place is simply amazing.110 years of history, and everything is as authentic as it can be. It really feels like going back to the last century, the ambience is wonderful, the staff is really attentive and helpful, the building is extremely well looked.The rooms are beautiful and original in their decoration. It really feels like time stopped here and there's certainly something magic in this place. We stayed two nights and we're glad we extended our stay, as this is not just a hotel to sleep and go, it's an experience in itself that would need at least two nights and some time in the garden and in the premises to be fully appreciated
