I am writing this after a highly unsatisfactory and concerning stay at Kohinoor Palace, Faizabad (March 2026), where I spent over ’42,000 for two rooms for two days. The property is marketed as a ’heritage hotel,’ which is completely misleading. There is no visible heritage value, no maintained architecture, and no experience that justifies such positioning or pricing. The most serious concern is food hygiene. I discovered a worm in my rice plate during the stay. When this was brought to the staff’s attention, instead of taking corrective action, the waiter replaced it with another serving taken from the same container and clearly stated that fresh rice had not been prepared. This reflects extremely poor hygiene practices and a lack of basic food safety standards.Additionally, the breakfast service was substandard, with staff displaying a lack of professionalism and hospitality. The overall premises and surroundings are also poorly maintained and do not meet even basic expectations for a hotel charging premium rates. This experience raises serious concerns about hygiene, service quality, and misrepresentation. I would strongly urge the management to take immediate corrective measures. I am also considering escalating this matter to appropriate consumer and food safety authorities if required. This property is not recommended in its current state.
