I recently stayed one night at The Scenic Unity while visiting the Statue of Unity. The hotel and overall experience were satisfactory, and the property is suitable for a stay. However, I was very disappointed and concerned about the food quality during breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We were served idli with orange chutney, but the chutney had a strong unpleasant and unusual odor. It seemed stale and definitely not suitable for eating. I immediately informed the manager and asked him to taste it in front of me. To my surprise, the manager couldn't even take a spoonful due to the bad smell. After I pointed out the problem, the chutney was promptly removed and discarded. What worried me more was the management's reaction. Instead of seriously addressing the food quality issue, they seemed more focused on defending the hotel and claiming it is one of the best. This raises serious food safety concerns, especially for a hotel charging premium rates. Guests expect hotels to uphold proper hygiene, freshness, and food safety standards. I strongly urge the management to take this incident seriously and implement thorough quality checks in their kitchen and restaurant. I also request the FSSAI authorities to investigate the restaurant's food storage, preparation, and quality control practices and take necessary action if violations are found. A good property and location alone are not enough—food safety and quality must always be prioritized.
