If you're looking to escape traffic, noise, and chaos, The Sylvan Retreat in Dehradun offers vast garden-like fields and acres of tranquility, peace, and calm. It's perfect for peaceful mornings, long walks, and enjoying the gently flowing tributary of the Ganga. The place is even more charming because it welcomes pets, making it ideal for pet owners. Numerous mango trees, heavy with various types of raw mangoes, add to the charm. I loved this place, and I'm sure you will too. Just a heads-up: the route is a bit secluded but completely safe.

Solo Traveller • Jul 2026the property is well-connected through good roads, till the last mile - which was our biggest concern as we reached around late evening. however, we were pleasantly surprised with the property - they have a huge green area and also multiple small green stretches with endless mango trees and mangoes on it (it's a different thing that you're not allowed to pluck even a single one / we still were able to manage one). the property overall is very neat and clean; I would've given it a 5-star if the room curtains and washroom were also equally well maintained. Ambience of the property is very good but that of the room, lacks a bit. Food is about above average - nothing special there; though the quantity served is ample. A BIG plus is multiple photo points - all in natural and serene background; which makes your stay worth the buck!
The Sylvan Retreat came as a surprise package for all of us. My family alongwith my pet beagle went for a quite short vacation. I was looking for some place which had gardens so that my pet can enjoy alongwith us. Although the approach road is slightly tricky and this place is situated in the Doon valley on the Rishikesh road, so seems very distant and lonely. The main town is also far off. Takes almost an hour to reach Rajpur road. But once you come inside this property its heaven, lush green expansive gardens, well maintained and clean. So many mango trees, makes your heart feel full. The master suite with king bed we booked was very spacious, clean and tidy. The staff is humble, courteous and hospitable. The wifi provided by the resort works well within your rooms. But your mobile network may be abysmally poor. Airtel is weak but works but others may not work at all. Overall, it was a good weekend spent at a very good place.
