Six of us (three couples) stayed here between the 17th and 20th of April. 2026. We had booked two Superior rooms and one Executive room.ACCESSEasy to find. Only a short stretch of road leading up to the property is unpaved and uneven, but comfortably navigable even in a low-slung car.THE PROPERTY - OUTSIDELeafy and well maintained. Not too much of a garden or grounds, but whatever there was appeared to be well tended even in the heat of April. However, you are surrounded by their own estate, in which you can go for walks.THE PROPERTY - INSIDETastefully done up. Lots of wood in the ceilings and the general decor, which gave it a warm welcoming feel. Excellent dining areas - there are two of them, one used for breakfast and lunch, and the other for dinner. The former is open on three sides and features a gigantic table.ROOMSGenerally quite good. Large, spacious. But despite their generous size, the Superior rooms felt cramped because a single bed had been wedged between two larger beds.High ceilings in the Superior rooms made the AC virtually ineffective. Add to that frequent power cuts and change-overs to the generator. If you are a light sleeper, you may not get a full night's undisturbed rest.ROOM UPKEEPThe bathroom of the Executive room was large, but there were signs of mould in some corners. Glazed ceiling-high tiles ensured that lizards (which abound in the open areas) did not bother us in the bathrooms. The handle of the shower unit had come unmoored, so we had to press it into place every time we used it.Clean towels, no smell. No hand and face napkins in the bathroom. Toiletries of decent quality.Comfortable bed, but slightly smelly pillows.SERVICE AND FOODThe manager, Mr. Ponnanna, is a young man who is responsive and helpful without being particularly warm or friendly. I rarely saw him smile. But he's available when you need him, and responds promptly to calls. Lives on the property.The rest of the staff - kitchen, housekeeping - is well behaved, efficient, and cooperative. I must specifically mention Amrit and head chef Shashidhar.The food follows a menu, which you can alter. You can ask for things which are outside of it, and the chef will make them for you. Tasty, simple stuff which you can eat without getting bored for 3-4 days.Is the food expensive? I would say it is moderately priced. Three lunches and three dinners cost us 12,400 for 7 people including our driver. And we ate well, sometimes ordered too much and wasted, too. We did not order any snacks.Sour note: The coffee was disappointing. I believe their tea was okay.AMENITIESThere is a large, comfortable lounge featuring an ancient TV. Its screen had a dark shadow across half its area, so watching IPL matches was painful. Plus - they only had the channel with Kannada commentary, which my friends could not follow. This is something they need to fix; they need a new, MUCH larger TV and a proper bouquet of channels. Otherwise that wonderful lounge is of little use.There is no accommodation for drivers, but they might be allowed to sleep on a large sofa placed in the lounge - but after 10:30 PM. Drivers can use the staff toilet. Their food has to be paid for.There's nothing for children to do, except a chess board and a foosball table. They might get very bored.No bar, but you can carry your own booze. They stock some aerated beverages.Overall it is a 3 on 5 kind of property. I would go again - if they fixed the TV and added some activities like a bonfire, nature walk, etc. Simple, inexpensive little things.LOCATIONAbout 25 km from Sakleshpura town, 80-90 minutes from Belur, and a similar distance from Bisle Ghat Viewpoint.No shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
