India Fights Corona: Recovery Rate Exceeds 49% for the First Time; More Updates Here

With our ongoing battle with coronavirus, several measures have been taken across the country to ensure the safety and health of the general public.

Here are 4 updates to remind you that while the battle against coronavirus is hard, we are giving it some tough competition:

1. In a welcome update, the recovery rate of coronavirus patients exceeded 49 per cent, the highest ever so far, for the first time this week on June 11. This means that the number of patients that have recovered from COVID-19 is more than those still under medical supervision.

The information was disclosed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in a tweet:

 

2. Railways has come up with the ‘Aap Surakshit Desh Surakshit’ initiative under which sanitizer sachets are being provided to each and every passenger reaching the stations to board the trains. This is one of the many important steps taken by Railways for travellers.

Railways has installed luggage sanitizer at the Ratlam railway station. All the luggage of passengers is being sanitized using the machine. The facility is proving to be very useful for passengers:

To make sure that we do not ignore nature during these times, as many as 25 additional plastic bottle crushing machines are being installed across railway stations to reduce our plastic footprint while travelling. This noble initiative has been undertaken by Western Railways across strategic and prominent locations on railway stations.
