Taking an international trip soon? Then, here’s some important news for you.
Indian citizens can now take their booster shots as soon as three months after their second dose if they are planning to fly overseas. The decision was announced on Thursday, 12th May, and it came in as a huge relief to international travellers. This enables them to meet the vaccination requirements imposed by several countries.
Up until now, the time gap between the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination and the precautionary dose was nine months. Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter to share this update. He wrote:
Indian citizens & students travelling overseas can now take the precaution dose as required by the guidelines of the destination country.
This new facility will be available soon on the CoWIN portal.
