Indian Railways improves facilities for passengers during COVID-19

In a bid to provide better comfort and convenience to passengers, Indian Railways has been taking major steps even during the pandemic.

Here are some of the main facilities provided by Railways:

1. Palakkad Junction station gets luxury retiring rooms!

At Palakkad Junction railway station, Kerala, a total of 16 retiring rooms are being upgraded under the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The upgradation work of 4 retiring rooms has already been completed. The upgradation of the rest of the retiring rooms has been planned after the launch of the facility.

2. Beautification of the upcoming Rail Museum at Hubbali

Indian Railways is on a beautification drive for the railway stations across the country. The upcoming Rail Museum at Hubbali has been lit up with beautiful lighting.

3. Offline tickets to get checked via Mobile at the Bhopal Station

Now, offline tickets booked from the Railway Reservation Office can also be checked via mobile without any physical contact. For this, a code will be sent to the passenger’s mobile while booking the ticket. TTE can scan and check it with their mobile or scanning machine.

4. Sanitizing tunnel installed at Ahmedabad rail zone

A sanitizing tunnel has been installed at the Ahmedabad Railway Division office to prevent the coronavirus infection. The sensor sanitizer starts as soon as anyone passes through that tunnel. Also, an automatic thermal scanning machine has been installed.
