Indian Railways to Launch 10 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains in 2026

Indian Railways is planning to roll out 10 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains in the financial year 2025-26. These new trains will be more comfortable, modern, and equipped with better features for long-distance travel.

The Railways is working quickly to bring these much-awaited sleeper versions of the Vande Bharat Express to different parts of the country. These trains are being built in partnership with BEML.


Although the routes haven’t been officially announced yet, these sleeper trains are likely to run on important routes such as New Delhi–Howrah, Sealdah–New Delhi, New Delhi–Pune, New Delhi–Mumbai, and New Delhi–Secunderabad.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will be semi-high-speed trains designed for overnight journeys. They will offer a smooth, safe, and premium travel experience. Built using strong stainless steel, these trains include modern safety features like crash-resistant buffers and couplers.

Each train will have 16 coaches with a total seating capacity of 823 passengers, spread across First AC, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier classes.
