In a bid to make passenger lodging more convenient and comfortable, Indian Railways is planning to introduce pod hotels at Mumbai Central railway station by December 2020.

Two non-AC waiting rooms on the first floor of the station will be turned into Railways’ first pod hotels.
Here are the top features you must know:
> These pod hotels are capsule-like, extremely small rooms meant for one person to sleep.
> Each pod will be 5×7 feet in size with amenities like bed, pillows, lights, blankets, WiFi, AC conditioning, a small TV, lockers and USB ports.

Note: The pods will provide accommodation to passengers up to 12 hours.
