Latest Airport Rules: Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha & Goa

Indian airlines IndiGo and Vistara have issued new updates informing passengers about a change in travel rules for various destinations in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.

While Vistara has notified about the new travel rules that will be applicable for Udaipur and Bhubaneswar airports, IndiGo has shared information regarding the new travel guidelines for Agra, Mumbai and Pune airports.

Along with this, the Goa Airport has shared a new update regarding the requirement of COVID negative report for incoming flight passengers in the state.

Please note: Since guidelines are subject to change on short notice, we advise travellers to reconfirm the RT-PCR and entry requirements with their respective airlines before travelling.


1. Rajasthan

In line with the new relaxed guidelines for Rajasthan announced recently by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, passengers travelling to Udaipur with a final vaccination certificate (two doses) issued at least 28 days before travelling to Rajasthan will not be required to carry a negative RT-PCR report.

Passengers without the final vaccination certificate however, will continue to be required to carry a negative RT-PCR report with sample collection done within 72 hours of arrival.

2. Maharashtra

IndiGo Airlines recently shared the new travel rules for Mumbai and Pune airports on Twitter. As per the latest update, passengers travelling to Mumbai and Pune from other destinations within Maharashtra are no longer required to carry a negative RT-PCR report.

However, the negative RT-PCR report (issued within 48 hours of arrival) continues to be required for travel to Mumbai and Pune from other states and union territories.

3. Uttar Pradesh

IndiGo has also shared the new travel rules for Agra, stating that passengers will have to undergo mandatory RT-PCR testing on arrival (free of cost) in the City of Taj. This rule will be applicable even if they are already travelling with a negative RT-PCR / Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) report:

4. Odisha

Travellers arriving in the state capital of Bhubaneswar need to carry a negative RT-PCR / Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) report issued within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival time, or a final vaccination certificate (two doses).

Passengers who do not meet the above requirements will have to undergo RAT at the airport and they will be dealt with as per the COVID treatment protocol of the state.

5. Goa

The Goa Airport has issued an official order regarding the COVID negative certificate required before entering the state. As per the order, the COVID negative certificate can mean RT-PCR / TrueNat / CBNAAT / Rapid Antigen Test, or any other test as approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
