Latest Travel Guidelines for 8 Indian Destinations

The travel guidelines are in a state of constant flux amid the surging COVID cases. This has created a lot of confusion for the travellers and locals alike.

Here are the updated rules for Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Haryana, Leh, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Assam

The state has imposed a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am. All business establishments, hotels/restaurants etc., can only operate with 50% capacity up to 9 pm. Takeaway is allowed up to 10 pm.

Only 60 fully vaccinated people per hour are allowed in iconic places, while only 40 such people are allowed in other religious places.

Non-vaccinated people won’t be allowed to enter in public places except hospitals with effect from 15th January.

Nagaland

Night curfew is imposed from 9 pm to 5 am. Any person entering the state above 12 years of age, including those who are vaccinated, should carry a negative RT-PCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT report not older than three days on arrival to the state. 

Social gathering shall be restricted to 50% of the capacity or 200 people, whichever is lower, provided all the people are fully vaccinated and asymptomatic.

Manipur

Manipur has made it mandatory for the travellers to carry a negative RT-PCR report issued within 48 hours of arrival to the state. This rule is applicable for both fully and partially vaccinated people.

Haryana

The state has added eight more districts, including Sirsa, Rewari, Jind, Fatehabad, Mahendergarh, Kaithal, Bhiwani and Hisar under the “Mahamari Alert Surakshit Haryana” guidelines.

According to these guidelines, all cinema halls, theatres, sports complexes and swimming pools shall remain closed. Only national and international level training players are allowed.

Public meetings, rallies, protests, dharnas are prohibited in the state till 19th January (5 am). 

Earlier, these restrictions were imposed in Karnal, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Rohtak Jhajjar, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat.

Leh

All the passengers travelling to Leh have to undergo a mandatory RT-PCR test on arrival irrespective of their vaccination status. They will have to stay in home isolation till the results are declared.

Tripura

The state has imposed a night curfew between 9 pm – 5 am from 10th to 20th January. 

Movie halls, sports complexes, stadiums, entertainment parks and bars are allowed to operate at 50% of the capacity. 

Restaurants and dhabas will function only up to 8:30 pm with 50% capacity. Only 100 people are allowed in marriage functions, whereas 20 are allowed in funerals.

Himachal Pradesh

All social and religious gatherings are banned in the state. As for the academic, sports, entertainment, political gatherings, 50% of the capacity or 100 people (whichever is lower) are allowed in indoor spaces. Whereas in outdoor areas, 50% of the capacity or 300 people (whichever is lower) are allowed. 

Government offices shall remain closed on weekends and to function on weekdays with 50% staff presence. 

This order will stay in effect till 24th January.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu has extended the lockdown restrictions till 31st January. The state has imposed a night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am for the weekdays (Mon to Sat) and will observe a complete lockdown on Sundays.

People will not be allowed in places of worship between 14th and 18th January. 

Special inter-district buses for Pongal will run at 75% capacity.
