Latest Update: Flexi-Fare Scheme Removed for Humsafar Express Trains

Good news for passengers! Indian Railways has decided to remove the Flexi-fare scheme from its premium Humsafar trains and also introduce sleeper class coaches.

A Railway Board order issued on Friday said, “The withdrawal of Flexi fare system will be applicable to 35 pairs of Humsafar expresses operated across India.”


The fares for Tatkal tickets of the Humsafar trains have also been decreased and they will now cost 1.3 times of the base fare, instead of 1.5 times.

The revised fare structure will be implemented from the 2nd week of January next year.

Presently, there are 4 Humsafar Express trains that operate on high demand routes — Chennai Central – Ahmedabad; Tambaram – Bhagat Ki Kothi; Tiruchchirappalli – Shri Ganganagar and Tirunelveli-Gandhidham.

An official said, “Sleeper class coaches will also be attached in addition to the existing 3AC class coaches as per the requirement and as per the decision of the Zonal Railways.”
