Complete list of states that do not require an RT-PCR test report

Relaxing the existing COVID-19 travel restrictions, several popular Indian states have decided to do away with the requirement of RT-PCR tests for entry.

For Andhra Pradesh

Passengers arriving in Andhra Pradesh are now no longer required to show a negative RT-PCR test report.

For Delhi

Passengers do not require an RT-PCR test report to enter Delhi.

For Haryana

As announced by the Haryana government, passengers entering the state will not require a COVID-19 negative report.

For Karnataka

Travellers arriving from Kerala and Maharashtra via flight, bus, train or taxi will require a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test report not older than 72 hours. This is irrespective of the vaccination certificate.

And for passengers arriving from other states, no such rule is applicable.

For Odisha

The state government has announced that people entering Odisha from any other state can visit without an RT-PCR negative test report.

For Sikkim

Fully vaccinated (two doses) travellers will be allowed to enter Sikkim on showing their final vaccination certificate.

However, partially vaccinated travellers or those below 18 years of age will be allowed to enter with a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test report conducted within 72 hours of entering the state.


For Telangana

 The state doesn’t require you to carry a negative RT-PCR test report for travel.

For fully vaccinated travellers:

Maharashtra

Passengers travelling to Maharashtra who are fully vaccinated (two doses of COVID-19 vaccine) can present a valid vaccination certificate issued on the COWIN portal. The second dose of vaccine should be taken at least 15 days prior to arrival.

However, for other passengers who are not vaccinated, a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test conducted within 72 hours of travel is mandatory.

Nagaland

All passengers travelling to Nagaland must carry a COVID-19 negative test report (RT-PCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT) with the test taken within 72 hours. Passengers without a valid report will undergo a test at their own cost.

Alternatively, travellers can carry a valid vaccination certificate (two doses). Fully vaccinated travellers will be exempted from testing on arrival and quarantine.

Punjab

All passengers entering Punjab must carry a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative report conducted within 72 hours of arrival. Alternatively, travellers can present a valid vaccination certificate (two doses).

Rajasthan

All travellers entering Rajasthan must carry a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test report conducted within 72 hours of arrival. Alternatively, travellers can also carry a valid vaccination certificate (single or double dose).

Tamil Nadu

All travellers entering Tamil Nadu from Kerala either by air, road or rail will be required to carry a COVID-19 RT-PCR test report. The test should be taken within 72 hours of the journey.

Alternatively, one can present a valid vaccination certificate (two doses). The second shot should have been administered a minimum of 14 days before the date of entry into Tamil Nadu.

Uttarakhand

Fully vaccinated travellers will be allowed entry by showing a valid certificate instead of the RT-PCR report. Travellers should take the second dose at least 15 days before arrival into the state.
