Mumbai-Pune in two hours: All you need to know

Indian Railways is planning to run semi-high speed trains between Mumbai and Pune, Nashik and Vadodara.

Did you know? The 1st Vande Bharat Express ran between New Delhi and Varanasi, which reduced the travel time by 40%.


So, if this plan succeeds, the travel time between Mumbai and Pune will be cut down to 2 hours from the current 3 hours 15 minutes taken by Deccan Queen and 3 hours 25 minutes by Mumbai-Nashik Panchavati Express.

Book Train

The trial run for this route will be conducted by the upgraded MainLine Electrical Multiple Unit (MEMU) trains.


Railway Board’s member Rajesh Agarwal said, “We will begin the trail runs in the next few days. The trials will be for both AC and non-AC train versions.”
