In an attempt to strengthen social distancing inside trains, the ticket checking staff will instead wear masks, face shields, gloves, PPE (personal protective equipment) and use magnifying glasses to check tickets.

Note: This new norm will come into effect from 1st June

According to the guidelines issued by IRCTC, “In order to prevent/reduce chances of infection, ticket checking staff may be asked to dispense with tie and coat. They will, however, put on their name and designation badge.”

There will be enough masks, face shields, hand gloves, head covers, sanitizers and soaps for the ticket checkers to maintain hygiene during COVID-19 epidemic.
