After 36 days of closure, the platform number 1 of Chandigarh Railway Station is operational again. The platform was closed down for 36 days starting from December 15th to January 19th.
Karan Singh Yadav, divisional railway manager, on his recent interview said, “We have completed the construction of the washable apron in the stipulated time frame of 36 days. The platform number 1 is now open for regular rail traffic. The idea of constructing washable apron is to keep the platform clean and hygienic.”
The trains which arrived at platform number 1 after repair were Shatabdi Express, Lucknow-Chandigarh Express, Sai Shirdi-Kalka Express, and Jan Shatabdi Express among others.
