Railways to resume cooked food service in premium trains

As the COVID-19 situation in India is gradually stabilising, the Indian Railways has decided to resume catering services with freshly cooked meals in premium trains such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas and Gatiman.

Important: For passengers who have already booked tickets on the above premium trains and have not opted for the same, freshly cooked food will be available on a payment basis, subject to availability. The ticket checking staff (TCs) onboard shall collect the catering amount due, as per the approved rate list.

Railway reverts platform ticket price to Rs.10

In light of the decline in COVID-19 cases, the Southern, Central and Western Railway zones have decided to revert the platform ticket prices from Rs.50 to Rs.10. 

IRCTC had increased the price of platform tickets to discourage overcrowding amid the coronavirus pandemic.
