As of 1st July, travellers entering Portugal no longer have to present a negative RT-PCR test report or proof of vaccination. They also don’t need to show a COVID-EU digital certificate on arrival.

Although the entry requirements have been eased, visitors to mainland Portugal must still wear face masks on public transportation. They will also be required to practise social distancing, frequent hand washing and proper respiratory etiquette.

In Madeira, for instance, masks are mandatory for anyone over the age of six while using public transportation and to enter or remain in enclosed areas.

Passengers are advised to check the entry formalities and procedures with their airlines and the Portuguese Immigration and Border Service (SEF) portal before departure.
