Shillong is hosting another Cherry Blossom Festival, and we can’t keep calm!!

Shillong, famous as the “Scotland of the East”, is once again hosting the beautiful Cherry Blossom Festival. This event is organised in the mystic Khasi hills of Meghalaya by the Meghalaya Government in association with the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.

Timeline of the Prominent Events

14th November

The opening ceremony, followed by drawing and painting competition. Dog show, skydiving and storytelling sessions will also be organised on this day.

15th November

The day starts will start a Cherry Blossom run followed by Stunt Bykerz Display, Traditional Archery Competition, colours of North East India. It will ends with unplugged western music.

16th November

Miss Cherry Blossom Beauty pageant will be the highlight of the day. Japanese film screening, martial arts, magic shows, songs by choirs and DJ music are some other events scheduled for this day.

17th November

Cherry Blossom Golf Tournament, Japanese Judokan, Baby Football Exhibition, Cycling, Closing ceremony followed by a Rock show are part of the last day of this event.
