Type D plug and socket

Type D

Type D: Employs three round pins.

Type G plug and socket

Type G

Type G: Has three flat pins.

Type K plug and socket

Do I Need a Voltage Converter in Bangladesh?

Bangladesh runs on a main voltage of 220 volts at a frequency of 50 Hz. This is effectively the same as India's 230V/50Hz. You can plug any Indian device into a Bangladesh socket without a voltage converter, as long as the plug shape fits.

Will my Indian charger work in Bangladesh?

Yes, but it depends on which socket your hotel has. Bangladesh uses Type C, D, G and K sockets at 220V/50Hz. Your Indian phone and laptop chargers are dual-voltage (the label reads 100–240V), so they handle Bangladesh voltage without any issue. The only question is plug shape — your Indian plug fits Type C and D sockets directly, but will not fit Type G and K sockets without an adapter. You do not need a voltage converter — Bangladesh's 220V is the same as India's 230V.
