Do I Need a Voltage Converter in Rwanda?

Rwanda runs on a main voltage of 230 volts at a frequency of 50 Hz. This is effectively the same as India's 230V/50Hz. You can plug any Indian device into a Rwanda socket without a voltage converter, as long as the plug shape fits.

Will my Indian charger work in Rwanda?

Yes, but it depends on which socket your hotel has. Rwanda uses Type C and J sockets at 230V/50Hz. Your Indian phone and laptop chargers are dual-voltage (the label reads 100–240V), so they handle Rwanda voltage without any issue. The only question is plug shape — your Indian plug fits Type C sockets directly, but will not fit Type J sockets without an adapter. You do not need a voltage converter — Rwanda's 230V is the same as India's 230V.
