The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a lockdown in the state from 10 pm tonight i.e. July 10 till 5 am on Monday i.e. July 13, except for essential and some other services.

Chief Secretary R K Tiwari in an order to district officials said, “The curbs have been imposed in the state to check the spread of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.”

Here are the restrictions & guidelines –
- The government and private offices, shops for non-essential items, malls and restaurants, will be shut.
- There will be no restriction on the movement of those working in essential services, Corona warriors, sanitation workers, and the door-step delivery staff.
- The movement of railways will continue and the passengers will be able to use special buses by UPSRTC to reach their homes.
- Domestic and international flights will also remain operational during this period. There will be no restriction on passengers going from the airport to their destinations.

- Bus services, other than those ferrying passengers to railway stations, will be prohibited during this period.
- Goods carrier vehicles will also not be restricted. Petrol pumps and ‘dhabas’ will also remain open.
- The ongoing campaign of medical screening and surveillance too would continue unhindered.
- Industrial units in rural areas will remain open and all the big construction works of expressways, bridges, roads, and private projects will also continue.
The UP government order also said that at every public place, an awareness programme would continue with the help of the public address system against COVID-19 and communicable diseases.
